Tips for growing your hair out
Whether you have short hair, are just starting on your journey to long, luscious hair, or you have long hair that you want to keep healthy, here are some tips for growing out healthy long hair:
- Chop it off often;
Ok maybe don't chop it all off... but frequent trips to the salon for trims do help your hair grow out and also keep it looking and feeling healthy by getting rid of dead ends.
- Your diet will make a difference;
Believe it or not, there are actually foods that can and will help hair grow faster and look healthier. Trying to incorporate foods such as avocados, nuts, and fish as well as other healthy fats and proteins to help locks grow.
- Avoid the heat;
Try avoiding curling irons, flattening irons, blow dryers and other hot tools because they cause damage to the hair, especially when used frequently.
- Skip shampoo days;
Try washing your hair with shampoo two to three times a week, at the very most. Heavy shampoos that are overused can actually do more damage than good to your hair.
- Silky sleeping;
Try switching cotton pillowcases for silk ones. These will help keep hair healthy and promote growth by stopping tangles, knots as well as breakage.
- Cooler the better;
Cool water helps protect hair from damage. Finishing a shower with a cool rinse is a good way to promote healthier hair and promote faster hair growth.
